Siri Hustvedt is an American writer of Norwegian descent. At university she graduated in history before moving to New York and studying English at the Columbia University. While studying she wrote and poetry and worked in a number of odd jobs before gaining her P.Hd at Columbia in 1986. At that time she started to write fiction. Her first work being "The Blindfold." Other tiltes include "A Plea For Eros," "The Enchantment of Lily Dowl," "Living, Thinking, Loving," and "What I Loved," "The Summer Without Men," Her latest book "The Blazing World," is due for release in March of 2014. She has a personal interest in neuroscience, which she also writes about in her autobiographical "The Shaking Woman or a History of My Nerves." She is married to author Paul Auster. sirihustvedt.net/
