Writer Michael Cunningham was born in Cincinatti and grew up in Pasadena, California. He currently lives in New York and is professor of creative writing at Yale University. In 1999 his book "The Hours"was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for fiction. He has written several other novels, "Golden States," "A Home at the End of the World," Flesh and Blood," "Specimen Days" and "By Nightfall," two screenplays and one non-fiction work.
